Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 Now Utilize Samsung’s HDR10+ GAMING Format
The very first game that supports Samsung’s HDR10+ GAMING format, called The First Descendant, was introduced about four months ago. Now, two more popular games, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, have also embraced this new HDR format. This exciting news means that gaming experiences on supported hardware will be even more immersive.
Bill Mandel, the co-manager of HDR10+ Technologies LLC, has said that, “The use of HDR10+ technologies has grown exponentially to fully encompass a variety of platforms and providers. Now, with the availability of plug-in cards from NVIDIA, game studios and developers can also realize the full benefits of HDR10+ GAMING on certified monitors and televisions.”
These action-packed games, including the Phantom Liberty expansion, are among the hottest titles of 2023, and they’ve now incorporated support for Samsung’s HDR10+ GAMING on PCs.
This is a notable improvement compared to most games, which typically only support the basic HDR10 format for a broader range of colors and brightness. HDR10+ GAMING brings a boost to gaming visuals by adding dynamic metadata to games. This results in higher brightness and contrast, offering better details in both bright and dark parts of the game.
One great thing about HDR10+ GAMING is that it’s royalty-free. Game developers won’t have to pay any fees to use this technology in their games, making it more accessible for the gaming community. Unreal Engine, a popular game development platform, has recently included support for HDR10+ GAMING. This means more game creators and publishers are likely to release games with HDR10+ GAMING certification in the future.
If you’re curious about The First Descendant, it’s currently in beta testing and is set to be available in the summer of 2024 on the Steam platform. As for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, it will receive an update in early 2024 to introduce HDR10+ GAMING GUI (Graphical User Interface).
To make the most of these enhancements, you’ll need a PC equipped with a compatible GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and a monitor that supports HDR10+. The good news is that more games are expected to support HDR10+ GAMING on PCs down the line, making the gaming experience even better for enthusiasts.
In conclusion, the world of gaming is getting more exciting with the adoption of Samsung’s HDR10+ GAMING format by popular titles like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. As technology continues to advance, gamers can look forward to an enhanced and more vibrant gaming experience on their PCs.
